West Slope is one of many neighborhoods found in Southwest Portland. Located in Washington county, it is bounded by Highway 217 on the west, Highway 26 to the north, the Raleighwood neighborhood to the east, and the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway to the south. It is close and convenient for commuters to downtown Portland, Beaverton, as well as southbound to Wilsonville and Salem. Commuting to downtown Portland averages 24 minutes along Highway 26.
West Slope is a mixed neighborhood of custom homes on large lots. Many of these homes are hidden among the trees and mature vegetation of this established neighborhood. Often the original owners have updated the homes with additions, landscaping, and tasteful improvements. And there is the occasional detached garage or outbuilding that has been made into a woodshop or play structure.
When looking for homes in West Slope, it is good to learn about traffic flow. There are several secluded pockets of homes just a couple of turns from a busy road.
